Star Wars Hero

"The Hero's journey is a journey into the center of yourself."

How is this true for both Luke and Anakin (Darth Vader)?

Community Service

I cleaned up market street up in Redding. I chose to clean up market street up because it was close to my parents work. Well my parents work is right on that street. It was one of the easiest things that I could think of. I also washed cars at a car lot a couple blocks near my parents shop. Washing those cars took forever to do.

Well its simple, I just walked up and the street and picked up trash. It lasted so long, it felt like it took for ever when I was doing it. there was a huge hill there to. Walking up and down that hill was a pain. I was trying not to get hit by cars to. There are some stupid drivers there to. When I washed cars I took soap and water and washed them.

Well I washed cars and cleaned market street because it was right next to my parents shop. It was the easest thing that I could do because I had to go to work afterwards. Although it was hard work doing these activities it made me feel good about my self as a person. it was a new expierience helping others woth community service.

What i learned that it feels good to be the person who goes on the calls to help others. it feels good to be the good guy who is always there. i love that feeling. If you haven't felt that feeling before you should it fills you with joy for helping the ones in need.

What did I learn about my self? Well I learned that I don't like to do community service that much. I it wasnt that bad to help clean the streets. Washing the cars sucked and there were at least 22 of them. Well I guess that I cant say anything because it wasn't a big car lot, thank god.

Star Wars

The hero is Luke Skywalker.

The people that helped Luke along the way were Han Solo, R2-D2, Obi One Kinobi, C3-PO, Chewbacca, and Princess Leia.

Luke's mentor/ threshold guardian is Obi One Kinobi.

At the beginning of the movie he wanted to help his uncle with the farming. Then they bought new droids(R2-D2, and C3PO). R2-D2 showed part of a message to Luke about some girl wanting help from Obi One Kinobi. Luke was thinking maybe he had a connection with Old Ben Kinobi which happens to be the same person. Obi One wants luke to go with him. Luke didn't want to go with Obi One, but then something happened to him(his family was killed by the empire). That's when he changed.

Porsche Girl

I can see why they wouldn't want them on the internet. I don't care if they win and I don't know what I would do or how I would feel about if it was one of my family members. I think that the pictures should stay up there for younger genrations so that this doesn't happen. Which it is going to happen again anyway but it might help. I think the internet should remain unfettered.

Earth Day

No I don't think that the writer is correct because he want every day to be earth day and well I don't really care about what happens its not like I'm going to be alive when everything happens. Don't get me wrong I don't go around polluting. No I didn't even know it was earth day until someone told me it was to day. Me and my family don't do anything to help protect the earth. Me and my family do what we always do even if it is earth day.

Things Not to Learn in School

1. You only need to get a 70
Ya Ive learned that one but I only do it in school because you only need a 70% in the class. I do stuff way different in the real world then from school. In school I only give between 65% to 85% depending on what it is and in real life i give 100%.

2. The tests will mostly be multiple choice
Ya in school they are mostly multiple choice but then you get those essay questions that have the stupidest thing you have to right about. Life you dont get four choices you mostly get a 50% chance.

3. There will always be a retest
There will never be a retest in life but there is always a second chance besides when your dead.

5. You only need to know whats on the test
Ya you really only need to know whats on the test to pass it.

Economic Problems

The way that people are responding to today's economic problems are that they are not spending as much as they used to. My family is not spending as much as we used to and were just trying to sell cars to people who don't want to spend there money. The things that we have stopped doing because of the recession is that we are not going out to eat dinner as much as we did before the recession and that basically we are not buying useless things that we do not need.

Foreign Relations

Foreign relations are so difficult because a lot of the time people dont like the other race.
President Obama should continue to change the foreign policy that Bush did because President Obama would abandon some of his predecessor's rigid ideological stances. Obama announced the closure of Guantánamo and the end of any official sanction for torture.

This section was about weather or not video games really are linked to violence. It said that there were a few cases that were supposedly linked to video games. It talks about taking undergraduates and making them play two different games and see witch one that they were More violent at.

This section was more about the strongest risk factors for school shootings centered on mental stability and the quality of home life, not media exposure. It talks about the percentage of men and women that play video games. It talks about the market and how its doing. It says that because games are used to train soldiers to kill, they have the same impact on the kids who play them.

No strong link seen between violent video games and aggression

Players were not statistically different from the non-playing control group in their beliefs on aggression after playing the game than they were before playing. Nor was game play a predictor of aggressive behaviors. researchers have suspected a strong linkage between games and aggression but, with the exception of relatively short-term effects on young adults and children, they have yet to demonstrate this link.

They chose two action games to include in their research one violent and the other not. The first game was a non-violent racing game Need for Speed: Underground. The other was the violent first-person shooter Medal of Honor: Frontline. The team divided a group of 44 adolescents into two groups, and randomly assigned the kids to play one of the two games. Immediately after the play sessions, the children were given MRIs of their brains. Scans showed a negative effect on the teens who played Medal of Honor for 30 minutes. That same effect was not present in the kids who played Need for Speed.

The issue of video game violence and children has really come to the attention of mass media lately, and this is possibly because video games are more realistic than ever before. This is because games like this put the player right in the middle of the action, getting them to see everything from the main character's eyes as they slaughter their enemies. It is said that this desensitized young children to the violence being depicted. As such, they would not have the same aversive reaction that they normally would if they were to witness an atrociously violent act in real life.

Fifty years' of research on violent television and movies has shown that there are several negative effects of watching such fare because video games are a newer medium, there is less research on them than there is on TV and movies. Dr. Anderson and colleagues have shown that playing a lot of violent video games is related to having more aggressive thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Psychologists have found that when parents limit the amount of time as well as the types of games their children play, children are less likely to show aggressive behaviors.

Where Education and Assimilation Collide

I think that we should not isolate them from the other students because they should be able to talk with them. The tensions have at times erupted into walkouts and cafeteria fights, including one in which immigrant students tore an American flag off the wall and black students responded by shouting, “Go back to your own country!” Sure they are going to fight but that happens everywhere.

We could stop a lot of this if we isolate them from the others but when they go out in the real world they are going to be surprised what is in store for them. A lot of people can pick out the people that were immigrants out of a group of people. They have to cope with a different way of life then they are used to. It could be a good idea to separate them from the other students while learning English because they wouldn't get harassed by the other students.

I think that the students should stay in school because eventually the laws would change. They would become citizens of this country, and they needed their diplomas so they could make something of themselves as Americans. Well the education would help them on ether side of the boarder.

Stem cell research

I am a person that believes and does not believe that a cell embryo is a person. I think that states should have the right to oppose the federal government on stem cell research because " no one's right for a cure supersedes someone else's right to life." I don't know much about it but creating embryos to cure a diseases doesn't sound that right to me. Sure I don't really think that embryos are people but that's just wrong.

newspapers in the future

i think that in the future the newspaper will end up being all electrical. I get my news from the computer all the time because news on the TV is boring. No I wont miss the news if its gone because I don't really care about what is happening that much. The only thing that I would miss is the comics and the sports.

Favorite Movie in 2008

The Dark Knight was my favorite movie in 2008. I liked it because the acting was perfect and Heath Ledger is one of my favorite acters. To bad he od though because I think that no one will be able to out joker him ever. Aaron Eckhart did two face and he did a really good job also he looked sick. Christian Bale also did a really good job playing batman in both movies. He is probible one of the best batmans ever.

Obama

According to President Obama's inaugural speech he said "This is a new era of responsibility, as nothing is so defining of character as difficult times."

This refers nationally that he is the first black president in the United States of America. This is history in progress for the United States of America. I don't know much about him being a senator (well i didn't really care) so i don't know how well he is going to do as president.

What does this refer to locally?

This refer to me personally to tell you the truth i don't really care about it. I have never cared about the president no matter who it is. I really do wonder how long he is going to last as the president though. I'm not trying to sound racist ok its just what i think.

what ive learned

I learned how to wake up consistently at 6:00 in the morning to go to school. Ive learned how to speak in front of a class when doing a project. When i was in English class we would always have to do a book report in front of the class. I was always scared to do it, i would shake, mumble, and do a lot of other stuff. Then one of the teachers helped me with that problem. They told me to imagine that i was the only one in the room and it helped me a lot.
I learned that you can sleep in someones class and still pass it. In my sophmore year in high school, there was a class that i would sleep in. I would sleep when we would take notes and i wouldn't always do the work. But the funny thing is that i would always pass the tests and quizes with at lest a 78% on them. they weren't easy tests ether. Mabe my head is like a sponge when im sleeping in class because i couldn't really pass any other tests besides math.

hamlets character

Hamlet is The Prince of Denmark, he was about thirty years old. Hamlet is the son of Queen Gertrude and the late King Hamlet, and the nephew of the present king, Claudius. Hamlet is melancholy, bitter, and cynical, full of hatred for his uncle’s scheming and disgust for his mother’s sexuality.
A reflective and thoughtful young man who has studied at the University of Wittenberg, Hamlet is often indecisive and hesitant, but at other times prone to rash and impulsive acts. A university student whose studies are interrupted by his father’s death, Hamlet is extremely philosophical and contemplative. He is particularly drawn to difficult questions or questions that cannot be answered with any certainty. He was faced with evidence that his uncle murdered his father.
